Breaking down the silos: Lessons from cross programme initiatives at BRAC

Integration has been the buzzword at BRAC lately. Programmes across the organization are now finding innovative ways to work together to provide holistic and “intensive” support to clients. However, while a collaborative approach has the potential to increase impact and efficiency and save time, it doesn’t come without challenges. For an organization operating at the scale of BRAC, coordination, delegation of responsibilities and data management are among the many challenges that need to be overcome in order to effectively plan a collaborative intervention.

The Social Innovation Lab’s September Innovation Forum featured speakers from the Targeting Ultra Poor programme, the Integrated Development Programme and the Aarong Artisan Development Initiative, who shared their experiences, lessons, and challenges from designing and implementing effective cross-programme initiatives at BRAC.
