Sadaf is a molecular biologist, entrepreneur, poet, writer, cultural activist and women’s advocate. She studied Natural Sciences (majoring in Molecular Cell Biology) at Newnham College, University of Cambridge, obtaining a B.A Honours and M.A.. She is a fellow of Cambridge Commonwealth Trust, and completed an MSc in Biotechnology at Brac University, Bangladesh. She has been active in promoting links in biotechnology and the life sciences between academia and industry for over a decade. She also has many years experience in research, advocacy and activism in the health sector.

She is currently on the Board of Trustees of Brac University, and is on the governing body of the JNI – Research Centre for Mathematical and Physical Science, University of Chittagong – a centre committed to advanced study in the sciences.
