How can I get involved?
This year you can get involved with FIF in several ways. You can register yourself and your team. You can nominate speakers for the event. You can write about the exciting work your organisation is doing for our blog. You can also pitch your innovation in the separate pitching sessions during the forum. There will also be an exclusive Field Visit to the outskirts of Savar to give you a glimpse of the amazing digital financial services ecosystem here in Bangladesh, you can also register for the field visit. Let us know if you want to request a booth allotment at frugalinnovaiton@brac.net.
How can I register to attend the Frugal Innovation Forum?
If you are interested in attending the forum, please register by filling out this form. The Social Innovation Lab will review your request and inform you if you have been selected. After this, you will have to confirm your participation and pay the participation fee.

How much is the participant fee?
The registration fee for the conference is highly subsidised.

Registration fee:
42600 BDT (~500 USD) for international participants.
15,000 BDT for participants living in Bangladesh.
What is included in the participant fee?
The participation fee includes:
  • Entry to all Frugal Innovation Forum sessions
  • Accommodations for two nights (18th-20th)
  • All meals and refreshments during the forum (beginning with a welcome dinner on the 18th through lunch on the 20th)
  • Complimentary transportation to and from the airport for international participants
Are there any waivers available?
The registration fee covers session access, meals, transportation to and from the venue and accommodation for 2 nights. Given these highly subsidized fees, for further assistance, please mail us your profile to frugalinnovation@brac.net
Do I need a visa to enter Bangladesh?
Please check the visa requirements for your country of citizenship. If you require an invitation letter, please send us the following information as soon as possible to frugalinnovation@brac.net:
  1. Name as it appears on your passport
  2. Date of Birth
  3. Passport number and country
  4. Expiration date
  5. Organization name and address

Can I attend the field visit only?
In order to attend the field visit, you have to register both for the conference and the field visit.

How is the Frugal Innovation Forum responding to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)?
  • Carefully following the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • Adhering to the travel restrictions and guidance of the Government of Bangladesh
  • Communicating with venue about their cleaning protocols and recommending they review the CDC and the WHO guidance
  • Requesting that all delegates evaluate their own health and that of people they’re in close contact with and to contact the Frugal Innovation Forum at frugalinnovation@brac.net if they have concerns about attending
  • Encouraging attendees to follow the guidance of the CDC for everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses
    • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
    • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
    • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • Stay home when sick.
    • Cover a cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
