As an innovation hub, we are continuously learning about innovations and disseminating the best practices across BRAC. We host forums, workshops and learning sessions to engage BRAC staff in conversations around innovation and cross-cutting development issues. Through these initiatives we aim to create a breeding ground of innovative ideas and development insights- a space for innovation.
Frugal Innovation Forum
Frugal Innovation Forum is a unique platform for southern leaders to connect and solve the world's toughest development challenges. Designed for practitioners, this annual conference creates opportunities to explore effective innovations and initiate dialogue among leaders in the global south. It's grounded in practice, and we pride ourselves in spotlighting initiatives that are truly transformational on the ground, not just in the media.
The theme of Frugal Innovation Forum 2016 is "Scaling Resilience", where we will showcase financial, social and technological innovations on climate change, disaster management and adaptive livelihoods. This is an-invitation only event with limited spaces available, so apply for an invitation today.
Monthly Innovation Forum and Learning Session
Every month we organise an Innovation Forum on a topic related to innovation and emerging opportunities in development sector. Open for all BRAC employees based in head office, the interactive session offers an opportunity to learn new things and engage in candid discussion. We also organise learning sessions led by internal and external resource persons to give BRAC employees an opportunity to broaden their perspectives on a specific topic.
Innovation Adda (meaning chit-chat sessions in Bengali) is an informal, no-agenda meetup for questions, dialogue, reflection, and building relationships among BRAC staff across different programmes. We host "Innovation Adda" every month in various locations inside BRAC Centre and outside in the field offices to create an open space for sharing ideas.
We collaborated with BRAC Human Resources and Learning Division to design and pilot a 2-day course titled "Leadership Course for Innovation Skills" for mid-level managers in the field. The game based, hands-on training enabled them to practice innovation in the workplace.
